San Jose, CA to Panama Motorcycle Trip

Here are photos from our trip through Costa Rica

Day 35

We started up the road to Monteverde, but decided it would take too much time.

Lunch in Guacimal with friends we met on the Ometepe ferry and traveled with for a day.
In the photo are Fred, Randal, Ryan, David and Sander.  Fred, Ryan, and Sander are all
from the midwest U.S., and are headed to Tierra del Fuego.

The five bikes (four BMWs and a Kawasaki).

We stayed in David's favorite hotel in Manuel Antonio, the Costa Verde.  While there may no longer be
more monkeys than people there, we did watch a capuchin monkey play in the trees outside out bungalow.

Day 36

Breakfasting on the deck at the Costa  Verde, with Manuel Antonio park in the background.

Parked on a beach at Dominical, below Manuel Antonio.  This section of coast road is only recently paved, and
the area is still relatively undiscovered.

Parked on another beach.

There we met "Boarhead", an American expat who is building a house in the nearby mountains.

Drinking cold coconut water ("cocos frios").

The beach near Uvita where we all took a swim.

David getting ready for his first ocean swim of the trip.

Another view of this beautiful, almost deserted beach.  It also has tree-shaded campsites just off the sand.
